While the Rangers needed a dramatic home run robbery from Travis Jankowski to win last night, they have been playing a little better in this series, as you’d expect them to. This is the PERFECT bounce back spot for Eovaldi, who’s really struggled over his last 7 starts. He has a 5.77 ERA and 1.23 WHIP in his last 7 starts. It also should be noted that he’s been SIGNIFICANTLY worse on the road than at home this year. However, he’s pitched back-to-back quality starts. Nick Nastrini goes for the White Sox, and to say his career has gotten off to an inauspicious start would be an understatement. In 6 starts, he has a WOEFUL 8.39 ERA. The Rangers SHOULD be able to hit him early in this game. If Eovaldi can continue to pitch well, the Rangers shouldn’t have ANY issues scoring some runs early in this game!

The Braves have been playing well lately, winning 3 straight games and 8 of their last 10. However, they’ll be flying into the hornet’s nest when they travel to Philadelphia tonight. They’re only up 5 games on the Braves for the NL East lead and NEED to win these games. Meanwhile, Charlie Morton has STRUGGLED recently. He’s been inconsistent on the road this season and has 4.72 ERA and 1.51 WHIP over his last 7 starts. That’s BAD NEWS facing a Phillies lineup that can ANNIHILATE teams at home! If Sanchez can keep a hobbled Braves lineup in check, the Phillies should get this HUGE series started off on the right foot!
