Xam’s Daily Gem:
Cowboys/Browns Over 41 Points -110 BetMGM 1 Unit
Both the Cowboys and Browns had great moments last year and went to the playoffs, but both of them lost big in the Wild Card round. Now, both teams square with intense pressure on both sides. Both teams are run by offensive minded head coaches in Mike McCarthy and Kevin Stefanski. Deshaun Watson is back for the Browns after missing most of last season. He had right shoulder surgery and this is a BIG season for him as he looks to regain the form he had when he was with the Houston Texans. His time with the Browns has been marked by injuries and poor performance. Meanwhile, the Cowboys were EXCELLENT offensively last year. Not a SINGLE team scored more points per game than they did, and the Browns were just outside the top 10 despite having a carousel at QB and missing superstar running back Nick Chubb for most of the season. It’s expected to be windy in Cleveland today, but BOTH teams have talent on the outside and running backs that can pound the rock. The Cowboys SHOULD come out mad considering how they were EMBARRASSED in their playoff game last year, and with the CeeDee Lamb saga behind them, the Cowboys SHOULD find ways to produce. How Deshaun Watson plays coming back from injury will likely be the key to this Play. The Browns acquired Jerry Jeudy in the offseason to bolster their wide receiver core and Amari Cooper is returning as well. The Browns have weapons and even without Nick Chubb, Jerome Ford SHOULD be able to keep the ball moving and keep Cleveland’s offense humming. The bottom line is that these are two veteran QBs in Dak Prescott and Deshaun Watson who are capable of putting up BIG numbers! Don’t be surprised to see a slugfest at Huntington Bank Field in Week 1!
