Xam’s Daily Gem:
Nets/Grizzlies Over 215 Points -112
Risk: 5.60 Units
To Win: 5 Units
The Nets have scored just 179 points in their last 2 games, and now they are going on the road to face a quality defensive team. They’re 2-8 in their last 10 games and have lost 4 straight. In short, they desperately need to show up and put a good game together. They have scored over 112 points per game this year, and they’re not bereft of talent offensively. Mikal Bridges, Cam Thomas, and Nic Claxton are proven scorers who are better than they’ve been recently. The Grizzlies are giving up 113 points per game this year and are giving up almost 114 points in their last 10 games as injuries have taken a toll. Their offense has been anemic this year overall, but they face a Nets team that is giving up over 115 points per game on the year and giving up nearly 118 points per game in their last 11 games. The Grizzlies haven’t played since the 23rd and prior to that were off for the All-Star Break, so they should be plenty rested for this matchup. Jaren Jackson Jr., GG Jackson, and Luke Kennard are the key offensive pieces for the Grizzlies in this game. Given how the Nets have played defense recently, the Grizzlies should be able to score some points in this game. Since the start of 2024, the Grizzlies have been a little better scoring at home, averaging over 105 points per game at FedExForum. There’s no reason they can’t do that again against a poor defense. If the Nets show up to play tonight, we just may see more points than we expect in this matchup.
