The Minnesota Wild come into play tonight as a top 3 team in the Western Conference standings, despite really struggling lately. They have lost 4 straight games, the last of which being a 5-0 drubbing against the Jets. Despite being 20-10 on the year, they’re only 8-7-1 playing at Xcel Energy Center. A big reason for that is they’re averaging just 2.38 goals per game at home. However, facing the Blackhawks, the Wild should get themselves back on track! The Blackhawks are arguably the WORST team in the entire league and come into play tied for the fewest points at just 26. The Blackhawks just have trouble scoring. They’re averaging 2.56 goals per game on the year. Wild goalie Filip Gustavsson should have a bounce back performance after giving up 9 goals in his last 2 games. He’s giving up just 2.47 goals against per game at home. Minnesota’s goalie returning to form would go a LONG way to getting Minnesota back on track. Giving guys like Kirill Kaprizov, Marco Rossi, and Matt Boldy time to score is what Minnesota needs. Simply put, the Minnesota Wild NEED this game.
