At 4-2 and with huge wins against Alabama and Kentucky, the Vanderbilt Commodores may be the biggest pleasant surprise in all of college football this season. Their win over the Crimson Tide is the biggest upset this season, and they almost beat Missouri on the road! Quarterback Diego Pavia has led a dynamic offensive attack. However, with Texas coming up next week, this has ALL THE HALLMARKS of a lookahead game for the Commodores. It also feels like the market is overvaluing Vanderbilt here after a couple of extremely impressive wins. Meanwhile, Ball State’s offense has been ROLLING the last two weeks! Quarterback Kadin Semonza threw for over 300 yards and 3 touchdowns against Western Michigan 2 weeks ago and 215 with another touchdown last week in an impressive road win against Kent State. Of course, Vanderbilt is a whole different beast, and FirstBank Stadium will be rocking tonight! Look for both teams to try and control the clock and pound the football. Vanderbilt is looking ahead to next week and knows they can win this game easily. The key here is what Ball State can produce offensively. Before last week’s matchup in Kentucky, Vanderbilt surrendered 30 more points in 3 straight games! Fortunately, Ball State shouldn’t have to get ANYWHERE near that score to cover this large spread!
