Nuggets Money Line -164
The Nuggets haven’t experienced much of a championship hangover yet. They are 24-11 on the year, 8-2 in their last 10 games, and have played solid defense throughout the year. Nikola Jokic is once again playing like an MVP. He hasn’t slowed down at all from last year. The Nuggets are also getting solid contributions from Jamal Murray, Michael Porter Jr., Aaron Gordon, and others. This is a deep roster that plays quality defense. That’s hard to beat, as evidenced by their 14-3 record at home and above .500 record on the road. The Warriors, meanwhile, are still struggling to find their groove this year. Despite being 6-4 in their last 10 games, they are under .500 for the year. The support around Steph Curry hasn’t been the same as it has in the past. Draymond Green is still away from the team and Klay Thompson looks like a shell of his former self. The Nuggets should be able to contain this offense, as they’re giving up less than 110 points per game this season. The Warriors have struggled on defense this year, giving up over 116 points per game. It’s not clear that they have the size to handle the Nuggets in this game. If the Nuggets can avoid foul trouble and avoid mistakes, they should get the job done. They’re the better team and have proven as much so far this year. Every game is important for Denver, given they’re only 1 game back of the top seed in the West.
