While we all can’t wait for the NFL regular season to get underway on September 7th at Arrowhead Stadium, fans worldwide will have an entire weekend’s worth of NFL action starting tonight. Tonight we start off with the Texans in New England and then the Vikings heading to the Pacific Northwest to take on the Seahawks. The highlight of the night will likely come from the new franchise QB of the Texans, C.J. Stroud. The 2nd overall pick in the draft will get his first taste of NFL action against arguably the best defensive mind in NFL history.
Never mind the fact that almost no starters will be playing this week, and those that do won’t play much. This is about football being back! Every team has some exciting rookies to watch out for, and the beauty of the game is that there’s going to be someone who plays this week that no one has heard of, yet he makes an impact, sticks with the team, and turns into a good player. It happens multiple times every single year. Once we get beyond the initial excitement of real football games being back, that’s what it’s all about.
It’ll be very tempting to bet on games this weekend, but without knowing many, if any, players on the field, AND not knowing how deep the playcalling will go, it’s very hard to gauge what teams have an edge. With MLB, World Cup, and WNBA games all going on, there’s better games and sports to bet on. Finding an edge in these sports will be easier. Save your bankroll for futures betting and the regular season. There will be PLENTY of NFL games to bet on this year!
But for now, let’s just rejoice in the simple fact that FOOTBALL IS BACK!
