The Buckeyes start their 2024 season with National Championship aspirations. They have the best odds to make the CFB Playoff and the 2nd best odds to win the Natty! When looking at their roster, it’s easy to see why. They have the best backfield in the entire country, with TreVeyon Henderson returning and Quinshon Judkins joining from Ole Miss. Will Howard is the quarterback Buckeyes fans hope will take them to the promised land. He will do WHATEVER he wants offensively today and begin building a rapport with Emeka Egbuka and Jeremiah Smith. The Buckeyes will likely lean on the ground game today to establish a tough, physical presence early in this one. Ohio State can EASILY drop 50 points in this game. Head Coach Ryan Day is going to want to make a STATEMENT today. Akron has been one of the WORST teams in the country and their defense is HORRIBLE defensively. The key will be what Joe Moorhead can produce offensively. Ben Finley is the new QB for the Zips and he has as tough a first assignment as you can ask for. They averaged about 16 points per game last season, so it won’t take a lot to improve on that number this season. Frankly, if Akron gets ANYWHERE near 16 points today, this Total will FLY OVER!
