Is Another Subpar Season Incoming For This QB? 1128 750 The Ultimate Lineup

The quarterback for the New York Giants enters an extremely pivotal year in his career with A TON of uncertainty.

Daniel Jones, the 6th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, Jones enters this season with arguably the most pressure among any starting QB this year.

Here’s how we’re playing this:

Daniel Jones Over 8.5 Interceptions (-118 FanDuel)

There are quite a few reasons to think Daniel Jones may be set to throw a lot of interceptions this season. Firstly, the team lost their best offensive player, Saquon Barkley, to free agency in the offseason. They also drafted wide receiver Malik Nabers out of LSU with the 6th overall pick in this year’s draft. These two moves signify head coach Brian Daboll and the offensive coaching staff will be more prone to throw the ball. In just 6 games last year, Jones threw 6 interceptions! The Giants may find themselves losing quite a bit this year as well, which will make they need to throw the ball more in the second half of games. The Giants have one of the worst collections of offensive talent in the league, and especially so at the skill positions. This will likely force Jones to continuously throw the ball into tight windows and force things to try and get it going offensively. That’s a recipe for disaster.

Honestly, the thing that may trap this Play the most is Jones’s injury history. It doesn’t matter if Jones misses 1 game or 12 games, all Futures bets stand. The Giants also signed veteran backup Drew Lock, who has starting experience in this league.

However, if Jones stays healthy and plays all year, and the Giants are incentivized to let that happen considering how much they’re paying him, Jones should have enough opportunities to make poor decisions and throw 9 or more interceptions on the season!
